Open burning is the practice of safe and proper disposal of waste vegetation and other unwanted materials as regulated by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).

Summit Fire and Medical District is no longer approved to issue a Burn Permit to residents. A residential open burn application through ADEQ must be completed annually and then residents must fill out the notification form online everyday you would like to burn. This includes your name and address and ADEQ burn permit number. These notifications will be shared with the On-Duty Battalion Chief and Forest Service Dispatch to alert for possible smoke in your area.
